Motorcycle Safety Tips for the Season
Motorcycle Safety Month is coming to a close, but we think motorcycle safety should go on all season long. Here are some motorcycle safety tips to stay safe this season.

Know the blind spots. 77% of two vehicle accidents occur in the 10, 11, 12, 1, and 2 o'clock positions of the motorcycle, according to the Hurt Study.
Most accidents occur at intersections. Be most cautious when a car is making a left turn at the opposite side of the intersection and be prepared to let the driver turn left before you go straight, if needed.
Watch for SUVs, trucks and other vehicles that may have blind spots. Make sure they see you in their mirror and leave extra space and caution - just in case. And remember to be on special alert during hazardous road conditions.
Stay visible. Reflective clothing or tape can really make you stand out on the road. Don't forget to signal often; those flashing lights can light up your way.
Check your insurance. Motorcycle Safety Advocate Paul Cote urges cyclists to look at their insurance policies and make sure they're sufficiently covered in Bodily Injury Caused By An Uninsured Auto, Optional Bodily Injury to Others, and Bodily Injury Caused By An Underinsured Auto. "Everyone wants lots of insurance after the accident," says Cote. "It only costs about $40 to carry an extra $100,000 of coverage."
Announce and educate about motorcycle safety. Put those famous "Share the Road ..." or "Check Twice - Save a Life ..." bumper stickers on your car. Tell your kids about motorcycles when they are learning to drive and find other opportunities to make drivers aware of motorcycles.
Your safety is important to us at HaulBikes. We don't want you to worry about your "baby," when you ship with us. Your bike will be secured in a special strapping system designed for motorcycles and know that our company has a damage ratio of less than 1%. And insurance is always included in your price.
Stay safe out there!
