Harley-Davidson 105th Anniversary Events Throughout the Milwaukee Area

August, 2008 - For all bikers riding or having bikes shipped to Milwaukee, the
Harley-Davidson 105th Anniversary Celebration from August 28-31, 2008, will feature non-stop city-wide action. Some hot spots will of course be Harley-Davidson dealerships across Milwaukee, but the biggest bashes are at Milwaukee’s Lakefront and Summerfest Festival grounds, with special activities at the Harley-Davidson Museum and Discovery World at Pier Wisconsin.

The Ride Home will be the biggest Harley-Davidson Anniversary ride in history. There will be 105 starting points around the country feeding into 25 major routes to Milwaukee. And the 105th Anniversary parade, the Harley-Davidson Parade of MDA Heroes, revs up at Miller Park in Milwaukee on the morning of August 30. Proceeds from the ride with benefit Jerry’s Kids, the Muscular Dystrophy Association.

Start Your Engines at the Kick-off Party
Whether you ship your bike to Milwaukee or ride in, this weekend is packed full of events and concerts, starting on Wednesday, August 27 at the 105th Anniversary Kick-off Party! Beginning at 4pm at Highland Avenue and 35th Street, a night of music and the official kick-off ceremony will get the weekend rolling!

Roll Out to the Lakefront and Milwaukee’s Summerfest Grounds
The two-day festival includes live music, antique and custom bike shows, skilled riding competitions, 105th Anniversary merchandise along with food and beverages from some of Milwaukee’s local restaurants. The event will feature special evening concerts by the Foo Fighters, August 29, and Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band, August 30, at the Roadhouse stage at Veterans Park on Milwaukee’s picturesque lakefront. The Main Street Exposition at Veterans Park, an outdoor festival with music, food, fireworks and entertainment will be open to everyone.

So Many Bikes, So Little Time
The 105th Anniversary event includes an area at both the Summerfest grounds and Veteran’s Park dedicated to Women's Events, featuring displays, promotions and interactive activities specifically for women. There will also be an exhibit at Discovery World Museum highlighting Harley-Davidson’s inspiration and design process.
